Article Submission Requirements

 

The following guidelines are for submitting articles to the Mitchell Reel Collector Chronicles© website for publication consideration. The MRCC © is a private website and the criteria for article submission is as follows.  Send an email to the Editor or Co-Editor describing the article you want to submit for consideration.  Please, do not forward any articles prior to contacting the Editor or Co-Editor. 1) It is required that your article be original and free from plagiarism or copyright infringement.  Pictures used in your article shall not be in conflict with copyright laws.  All articles must have a title and Mitchell reels must be the subject.  Copyright material is permitted provided you present permission from the owner. 

2) Articles shall be written in Microsoft word / Apple systems. Articles submitted for consideration shall be typed with a font size of 12 and typesetting of Times Roman / New Times Roman. Background shall be white and lettering black. 

3) Pictures shall be imbedded within the article and be attached as a JPG only in a position that complements the subject of interest. You can use schematics, drawings, sketches, computer aided drawings (CAD –system), in your article as well. Picture size shall be no smaller than 2” x 2” and no larger than 6” x 6”. Pixel size shall be no higher than 150

4) Preferable number of pages for each article is between 3-5 pages, maximum.  If it is more, which is perfectly ok, please make it a multi-part article i.e., Part 1, Part 2 Part 3, etc.  

5) No PDF files can be accepted. All files sent must be open to allow for editing and positioning on the website.

6)  Write your article as a Word document with pictures in place and submit to the editor.  This will be my sample for picture placement & captions. 

 7) Very Important:  Please send me all the .jpg pictures as a second email for that particular article separate from the email containing the Word document with the imbedded pic’s.   

  Please try to keep the picture count per article at no more than 12 pic’s.  If you have many pic’s that is needed to represent your story, this is ok just make it a two / three part article or more if needed.  

 9) To sum up this whole process, for every article you submit I should get one email containing the article with the pic attached, and then another email with all the .jpg for that article separate. The reason for this extra step is that the website, does not allow for direct placement for a complete article with pictures.  They have to be inputted separately.
